Ludwig van Beethoven

Josephkarlstieler_1820index Okay, not even I can somehow tie this into the medical humanities, but

Today is probably Beethoven's birthday.  On Dec. 16 (or Dec. 17), 1770, Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany.  I think that is worth marking.

Addendum: I have been thinking about the results of the HRT study that I wrote about yesterday, and discussing it with some mentors, and I think that the post could be misunderstood, especially for its tone. Look for an amendment and an attempt at clarification at some point today.

UPDATE: My word, my brain is quite addled today.  Thanks to Penny Richards over at Disability Studies Blog for pointing out in the comments that there is an obvious connection between Beethoven and medical humanities: his own lived experiences with deafness.
